News and Updates
There are a number different communication channels that the Race Committee will use to communicate through the year, each is listed below
Primarily this website will be used as the key repository of all information regarding the race. In the "off season" months between April and October information will be updated as needed, mostly more general in nature but specifics on the entry process for the next race will be included. After the entry process there will be more frequent updates for entrants as various details for the next race are confirmed. All key updates will be mentioned on the home page summary.
The official Six Foot Track Marathon Facebook page is the most dynamic medium that we will use to provide quick updates, news, photos etc. These will often include links to more detailed and updated information on the website. General questions through the Facebook page and associated messenger may be answered but the email process below is the preferred channel for questions etc.
Through Google Groups we manage and maintain a list of around 3500 people who have previously raced or are interested in future races or general updates. This newsletter is primarily used for communication during the "off season" and leading up to race entries opening. The best way to subscribe to this newsletter is to send an email to email@example.com You do not need to have a gmail account set up to access the newsletter. After race entries have been completed this newsletter will only be used for consolidated updates until the next "off season"
Entrant email updates
Once the entry process is completed and there is a list of confirmed entrants there will be a number of email updates sent out only to registered entrants with important race updates and notifications. Some of these will also be included or referenced via the website or Facebook. Please use an email when registering that you will be able to access and monitor in the months from December to March, especially through the school holidays.
This is the official general email for the race and race committee. This is the best method for any questions/queries that you may have at any point in regards to the race. We monitor this email regularly and aim to respond as quickly as responsible but please bear in mind that it is monitored by volunteers who sometimes have real life work, family or training committments that may not enable an immediate response.
All members of the Six Foot Track Marathon Race Committee are volunteers with normal day to day responsibilities. Our preference for all communications is firstly through the above options. If a phone call is required after the initial enquiry we are happy to then organise this with the most appropriate person from the committee who can assist with the required discussion and details.
All of the email newsletters can also be reviewed below if you would like to subscribe send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
